Flamingo nails are all the rage this summer! If you want to add a little extra glamour to your look, why not go for a bright and bold flamingo design? From full-on flamingo artworks to subtle hints of pink and orange, there’s something for everyone. Here we share our step by step guide on how to get creative with your nails and create stunning flamingo nail art.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced pro, it’s easy to replicate this design at home. All you need is a light blue polish, a bright pink polish, a light pink polish, a small paintbrush and a dotting tool or toothpick. And don’t forget your base coat and topcoat!

How to Paint Flamingo Nail Art

The first step to achieving the perfect flamingo nail style is prepping your nails. Properly prepping the nails will ensure that your design will remain intact for longer periods of time.

Start by cleaning off any old nail polish, dirt, or oils from the surface of each nail with a non-acetone based remover. Then use an orange stick to push back cuticles and create a clean canvas for the design. Once all of your nails are ready, file them into desired shape while keeping them even and symmetrical in length. It’s important to make sure that there are no jagged edges or sharp corners on each nail as these may interfere with the flamingo application process later on.

Step 1:

To get started on your own flamingo mani, first, paint your nails with one coat of light blue polish. Once you’ve finished applying the first layer, set aside a few minutes for it to dry before moving onto step two!

Step 2:

Next, you will need a medium-bright pink nail polish and a small brush. Start by carefully painting the semi circle onto the tips of each finger or toe – whichever you prefer! Make sure that you use quick strokes so that the paint won’t smudge too much as it dries.

Step 3:

Using the same pink, paint an S shape starting with the head going down to join up with the body. Made the top of the S (the head of the flamingo) a little bigger than the neck.

Step 7:

When dry, use the tiny paintbrush to pick up some black nail polish and draw the curve of the black beak in front of the white line you painted.

Step 8:

When it comes time to add the pupils in the eyes, take out that toothpick or tiny dotting tool! Using these tools will help create a more precise shape for your pupil. For added sparkle, consider adding some glitter or rhinestones around your flamingos for an even bolder effect.

Finally, seal it all with a clear topcoat to protect your design from chipping or fading away quickly. Now you have a unique set of flamingo-decorated nails!
